Splint Therapy for TMD

At Ellender Orthodontic Specialists, we offer splint therapy as a non-invasive and effective treatment option for patients experiencing TMD (temporomandibular joint disorders). TMD can cause a range of symptoms—including jaw pain, headaches, clicking or popping in the joint, and difficulty chewing or opening the mouth fully.

Splint Therapy

Splint therapy involves wearing a custom-made oral appliance—often referred to as a nightguard or occlusal splint—that helps relieve pressure on the jaw joints and muscles. In some cases, we may also recommend physical therapy to support improved jaw function, reduce muscle tension, and enhance long-term results.
